Parking charge from Group Nexus....any views/experience welcome

Hi,
I am sure this won't be a unique circumstance but I probably won't like the answer!
Parked in a parking area covered by Group Nexus. It is where you can get validated from using the businesses around it...cinema, restaurant's etc.
I used one of the restaurants and their self validation machine was out of action. The person welcoming us took the registration and said they would sort it out for us. Low and behold I got a ticket.
I spoke to the restaurant and they apologised and said they would sort it out. Two weeks later the £60 has become £100 with the threats of debt collection.
I have spoken to the restaurant (again), they have apologised (again) and said they will sort it.
I have the receipt from using the restaurant and emails back and forth but should I just pay the £100 or is it worth engaging with Group Nexus directly?

Plenty of GN posts on here, thousands of them , ideally you keep getting the restaurant to cancel it, plan A in the newbies sticky thread in announcements
Does the NTK PCN letter comply with POFA or not. ?
It was always £100, the 40% discount offer was a time limited early settlement offer, not the £100 charge, so of course its expired and back at the default daily charge of £100
Do not pay it2 -
There is no "threat of debt collection" you have no debt only an alleged debt from a bunch of chancers, why on earth would you consider paying this due to their equipment failure?I would tell the Muppets at GN that you wont be paying their invoice generated by their faulty system and that you have all the evidence you need to see them off in court if they are that dim to try!

NO NO don't pay. Debt agencies are to be ignored as advised in Post 4 of the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement thread.
Has the restaurant said the pcn was cancelled?3 -

Has the restaurant said the pcn was cancelled?
Whilst the manager of the restaurant is lovely and apologetic I’m not convinced he has resolved the issue so I’ll probably drop in. I asked him to confirm and last response was “will do” so waiting for that.I really didn’t want to engage with GN directly but will if it’s an appropriate approach.1 -
GN just discontinued this case

Not unusual for either of them1 -
The lovely letter. I guess they prey on people getting increasingly stressed and decide to pay up. Hopefully it will get cancelled off.

That's exactly how they hope to get paid.
You need to be more firm with the lovely apologetic manager who seems to be stringing you along. I read another thread where the motorist took pcn to the manager got him to write sign date a cancellation statement on the pcn.
Whatever you do don't let the restaurant owner keep your original pcn.3 -

Nothing to worry about but try an appeal that explains that the keypad system was not working in the restaurant and their staff are horrified and require the PCN to be cancelled.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
