Seller communication

Up until recently my metrics for sales were perfect, but then buyers starting giving me low stars for communication, at this time of year I was worried that delayed items would impact my metrics but that hasn't happened, I am at a loss to understand what buyers want, unless they ask a question I have no reason to communicate with them, all they need is a notification that their item has been despatched, can anyone offer any advice or insights on this?

Mine appear to be holding OK and like you I don’t communicate at all with buyers. They buy, I send, what else is there to do? My labels are all bought via eBay postage so it is updated at point of label postage, then nearly all the items have a delivery code. I answer questions when asked but get very few.

I think some buyers just don’t like giving 5* for no real reason.

I just checked my score is 5 for communication, other than marking despatched I only communicate if asked myself

As a private seller, listing my own unwanted stuff, I like to keep my good feedback.
All 4 categories are 5 *.

I answer questions promptly, although as I'm very specific with my descriptions, most are about offers (which I don't have on many items.

I also message buyers to let them know when I've despatched an item, in addition to marking the item as dispatched (if I've not used eBay postage).

But I'm not a seller selling widgets at 99p.
And it's no big deal when I'm selling a couple of things a week.
