Buying persimmons home and was thinking of upgrading the worktops to quartz. Has anyone else done this and what did they charge you extra to upgrade?

Widely considered to be the worst of all the main construction companies.
There's a parcel of Persimmon houses on my estate. Last parcel to be developed and after 4 years they look awful. Cracks, running mortar, obvious issues with windows (even from the outside) and generally bad brick work.0 -

It's probably best to ask persimmon.
Will you be paying for the upgrade before exchange of contracts (i.e. during the reservation period)?
If so, a number of people have posted here saying they did that, then the purchase fell through - and they weren't allowed a refund for the upgrades they'd paid for...
... because the builder says the worktop (or whatever) has already been ordered and/or installed. So somebody else buys the house and gets the quartz worktop you paid for, for free.

Yes persimmons do have a bad name but they are gradually getting better. We are going to get a price directly from them but just wondering if anyone has had it done and what potential cost we could be looking at

This is why you’re supposed to check the build to ensure you’re happy with everything prior to completion. They are getting better and it’s different construction companies for different areas. We have already looked in to it and feel confident buying one. We also know people that have bought and have had no issuespenners324 said:Widely considered to be the worst of all the main construction companies.
