Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
Quite breezy this morning but forecast to be dry so the bedding is in the WM and I'm hoping to put it on the line for a while.
I'm up and showered, the sofa should be arriving between 8 and 10 which is good, at least I don't have to stay in all day. The living room is sorted and ready, just hoping it fits through the door!
Yesterday was very busy, all the shops on my list visited. It was lovely and quiet everywhere and I was home again by 12. Wrapped the presents I bought, so I think that's it, just the food to sort now but it's still a bit early for that.
Just had a phone call to say the sofa should be here in the next half hour - the neighbours will love me with a big truck arriving so early on a Sunday morning!
I'll pop back later to let you know how it goes. Until then I'll wish you a peaceful Sunday. Take care. XX11 -
Morning all. Thanks for the start @Scarlet.Today is calm and may become bright, or at least stay dry. Last night the sky was so clear that the stars were all twinkling away. Earlier on in the night the crescent moon was visible too. They all mesmerise me still.I took away my rubbish yesterday afternoon and then spotted a parking space right outside the community CS so was able to hand over the two bags of stuff which has been cluttering up my car for ages.@Camelot - by now your new sofa should be in and put in position, happy sitting on it! @DP1 - how's your little one doing?12

Happy Sunday all
Hope everyone is safe and well.
Yesterday’s storm was relentless, and we were only under a yellow warning - I can’t imagine what it was like further west. The rain didn’t stop and wind howled with some hefty gusts. So many reports of trees down, a local village has been without electricity for ages and not due to be fixed until this evening. Huge shoutouts to emergency workers, electricity engineers and anyone that has been clearing trees.I didn’t go to the craft fair!
Still windy now though we have a couple of hours window of brightness before it starts again. Out of semi skimmed milk but will have to cope as don’t really want to drive …..neighbours may have some to ‘borrow’.Some Christmas wrapping on the cards I think, plus unpacking the van of the craft fair stuff - it was just too windy yesterday.Sorry that’s turned into a weather novel!AA10 -

Morning folks. I think we got off lightly compared to some of you with the weather. All is calm at the minute but just to remind us the storm hasn't left us just yet we are forecast blustery wind for a couple of hours mid morning. I have some towels in washing but I don't think they will be getting pegged out today.
DGD is still in bed but breakfast is ready to go when she surfaces. I hope not too long as DS is picking me up in a bit for shopping.
Have a better day today folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Good morning all. Wet and windy here too. It was very strange, I woke up about 3am and all was still and quite. I did my usual lying there mithering about things I can't change and suddenly the wind started up again. Very gusty now.
Today we're having a roast pork dinner, one of the half price joints. I slow cooked it yesterday and we had some in baguettes last night. Enough left for another couple of meals.
Camelot, hope your sofa fitted through the door.
Dp1, how is little one?
Have a good Sunday all, stay safe.

Hello all, we've survived in tact so far but we're on another yellow warning for strong winds again today. No damage has been done as Mr Fix It was out this morning surveying the property while I was still sleeping. Don't think a pack of wild horses running through the bedroom would have woken me.
We didn't get to DD's yesterday as the weather was really bad so we're going today. We'll call round to Dad's to pick up his card for DD and see if he wants to come too, he didn't seem too bothered last night when I rang him for our chat.
I cooked some beef in the slow cooker yesterday so we'll have that with roasties etc for tea. I also watched the new Wonka film last night, not sure about it but it was an easy, pleasant watch.
Camelot hope the sofas arrived safely and you are sitting comfortably now.
Stay safe, have a good day all. Hugs to the poorly/sad ones.

Morning! Well, it was quite windy yesterday and last night, I stayed in all day because I may be stupid but I'm not an idiotOnly the frame remains of the gazebo so I'd better be quick smart about getting the rest of the slabs down but OH is here so he can lift them today. [They're only little tiddler 18 inches ones] He's off to a comedy show in London [ one of the people who did the comedy course with him is in the final of Comedian of the Year in one theatre] so he's going with the friend he did the course with. That leaves me free to go and see a film or something, I fancy Red One, I like JK Simmons...
Camelot, happy new sofa, hope it's in and done and dusted...Nanny, good luck venturing out today, hope it's less whooshy..and your father less...like himselfIzzy, your MIL sounds like my mam. She once aid to me, you're not pretty at all are you, turns out she meant the way I dressed but still....Allie, probably a good choice, have a good day today! Gers, I can see how looking at he stars can make a body feel part of something much larger and relentlessly ongoing...Hope you all came through that unscathed, there's still some more today so fingers crossed for everyone...and take care.

Morning all from Mehefinland
What a difference a day makes ( cue song!) Sunny and quite bright, but still breezy. A biting Northerly as I write.
Minimal damage to the property = a bit of cement under the roof tiles has gone wandering, and the greenhouse lost a couple of panes, one hadn't broken so I managed to refit that one and cobbled the other which was in two - its amazing what Duck tape will stick!!The biggest casualty was my lovely pine tree which lost a lot of branches but fortunately stayed up. Some had landed next door so I rescued them. There are cones all over the back garden like a confetti throw at a wedding. I will pick them up for the lady in our primary school who uses them for a firepit in the outdoor area- she is always on the lookout for them so it suits us both.
Horses are out (2 rugged) and enjoying stretching their legs after being cooped up all day yesterday. They have plenty of protection from today's wind under the hedge if they want it. The little one is a hardy soul and doesn't need a rug, not that you would get anywhere near her with one. It really would be a case of taking your life in your hands as she is pretty 'handy' with her back feet. I've had enough kicks in my lifetime - I don't want any more!!
Hopefully it will be a bit settled for a while and I can get some essential chores done. Hope you survived this storm if it hit you - it was certainly a belter.
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin aka Derek8
