This cooker was installed recently but has no hood.
Is it is easy to buy a hood and install yourself?

Easy to buy, yes. Ease of installation is down to your DIY abilities :-)But, yes, this would be considered very DIYable, the tricky issue being securing it solidly to your wall. Electrically, this can be a plug-in device.Things to consider - is there any possibility that you can duct the exhaust outside? This would be FAR superior to 'recirculating', tho' the latter is much better than nothing.Mounting height needs considering. Gas hobs require a slightly higher minium height for the hood - 750mm as opposed to 650mm, I think. Some types of hood can literally get in yer face, especially if you are tall.Do you currently have any wall units either side, or even above the cooker? A recent design is the 'telescopic' type, which I recommended to bro' - this sits flush with the wall unit fronts above, so completely out of the way when not in use. To use, you pull the slim fascia out to capture the fug.And other things to consider - the noise level in db - worth comparing them - and the extraction rate in m3/hr.0
