Kitchen issues

We ordered our kitchen from IKEA using the in-store planner service. When we came to fit it we realized he had ordered the wrong coloured drawers. There are 9 drawers.
Ikea are out of stock of the drawers and can't advise if they will ever be in stock again. What should we do here? We've fitted the entire kitchen including the wrong coloured drawers as customer services said we could whilst we wait to see if stock is ordered.
Many thanks.

If they have none in stock, then in reality you are going to have to wait till they are back in stock.
Did customer service put it in writing that you could fit the drawer fronts till they have the correct back in stock?Life in the slow lane0 -
They didn't put it in writing but I have a reference number. I guess what I'm concerned about is I'm not convinced they will get them back in stock. How long do I have to wait and what are my options if they are going to leave me with a multi coloured kitchen?0

It's not clear from your post - do you think the different colours is your mistake or Ikea's mistake?lilacskitten said:When we came to fit it we realized he had ordered the wrong coloured drawers.
If it's your mistake, I guess you need to check Ikea's contract terms to see what they say about returns / refunds / replacements - if you decide you don't want what you've ordered.
I guess they might offer refunds if you return the drawers, but I doubt they have any duty to come up with a replacement in a different colour.

If they can't supply the right colours then you should see if you can get the drawer fronts elsewhere and ask IKEA to cover the cost. The other option is to see if IKEA can supply matching fronts in a similar colour for the whole kitchen.0

The reason I say is the charcoal drawers in the photo contrasting with the cream actually look like they are meant to be like that and an expensive "designer" choice.
Obviously, in the kitchen as a whole they might look entirely out of place, but from just that view, it is something I could live with. If your preference and expectation is cream drawer fronts, then you should hold out for the replacements to the correct units.0 -
If you keep calling IKEA, you'll eventually get through to someone who will do some digging and tell you if they're likely to ever come back into stock. It is likely that they'll have similar cupboards in cream, but perhaps not exactly the same.
You could complain, but IKEA seem to be drowning in kitchen complaints right now and I think they'll probably just offer to let you keep those drawers but also refund them in full, so these drawers are essentially free.Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
