Free wills for Armed Forces

There is an offer running for those that are currently serving or have served in the Armed forces to get a free will from wills.services. Family members can also take advantage of this.

  • A note of caution - Making wills is one of the most important documents you will make in your lifetime, and this offer is from unregulated will writers so be prepared for some heavy duty upselling such as LPAs (these you can do yourself) and trusts (if they say these can avoid care costs run a mile)

Wills are not something to penny pinch on unless you have a very simple estate with no property use a local solicitor.

The bumph does say that only one very basic Will per household is free, and that more complex Wills will cost.

From my own time in the Armed Forces, these very basic Wills are only really suitable for serving members who don't have any dependants or own property.

No assets other than perhaps  a car and money in bank/savings accounts.  Not married, no children.
