Looking for short term car insurance with a Spanish driving licence

I'm a UK national with legal residency in Spain and changed my licence to the Spanish one before Brexit.

I need to insure myself on a friend's car for a week over the Christmas period. Which companies offer this service?  I've tried with a company that I've used before, but only for hire cars.  They don't do it for private cars.  

Any advice very welcome, thanks!

There are plenty of companies who offer temporary insurance.  I've used DayInsure a few times, always found them pretty reasonable.  But if you Google for "Temporary Car Insurance" you'll find plenty of companies who offer this.

I will say, however, I'm not sure whether having a Spanish licence might be an issue for some of them (I can't see why it should be a problem, but you never know).  But there's no harm in going to their website and having a look.

Alternatively, can your friend add you as a temporary named driver to their insurance?  Again, I've done this in the past when a friend wanted to borrow my car, and it was not expensive at all.
