I currently dont have the use of my left foot or ankle, cant weight bear on my left leg at all and using crutches and a frame for mobility. It looks like i may have this condition for at least a year. Im struggling to move the wheelie bins around. Is there any attachments or aids to make this possible while using crutches?
The council at the moment are doing an assisted collection but that's not totally reliable. Sometimes they forget or someone else will put my bin out trying to help, but then the council don't return it back into my property and it stays on the pavement for days

Stick with the assisted lift. I agree. My council have been first class with my assisted collect, not withstanding the bin is not always returned right way round so I have a little struggle occasionally but in the main I'd say stick with the council and if the problems recur contact the council and do so - politely- EVERY time there's a problem. It WILL get resolved!!

If the bin isn't returned just phone the Council and they'll contact the driver and eventually they'll get better notes.

The council can usually add notes to assisted collections.. Have your bins got clear house numbers on them.. if so a not can go on system to say bin no to please be returned if out on its own.
It is worth asking neighbour to not occasionally help with bins, thank them but explain council will only return the ones they collect from door so its kind but please dont help at this stage.
I too have assisted collection they are pretty good in this area. My only frustration is the bins are returned against my access ramp as i'd like but sometimes left facing outwards so i cant open them until someone turns them round.. i havent requested a note on file as have Carers who turn them for me.

Sadly different councils & different crews make a difference.
Never had an issue in 15 years in previous property with any collection, with my current one no issue with garden or black bin, but the recycling I've had to make numerous formal complaints, they miss it or refuse to return it to the place of collection. They clearly try it on, as impossible to forget where they collected from 30 seconds ago.
