the number/letters on it will match the batch it was manufactured in, i know i was able to look up my xeons a few years back but not sure about amd.

the differenc between a good cpu cooler and normal is baout £5 so why not go for a decent one and risk it, i have a 130nm amd and was still able to put a 470mhz overclock on it till my ram started failing memtest.

There'll be 3 lines of codes on the cpu, if u post the first 2 lines someone will be able to give you an idea of what to expect from it.
