Is it safe to pay Ali Express by CC?

Just wanting to take advantage of a "new customer" offer but the value is too low to use PayPal.
Are they to be trusted with Credit Cards and CCV number?

Do you have any reason not to trust them?  As long as you behave reasonably then your bank will protect you

Just a bit uneasy where it says "Save Card Details", because the form includes the CVV.
Suppose if it were a UK firm, I'd be OK with it but with AE I always remember the Duke of Edinburgh's classic description of our oriental friends!

It is against card regulation's for firms to save CVV. It will entail a very large fine if they are.

Thanks for reassurance, paranoia is no bad thing, especially at this time of year! ;)

You should have the option not to save card details.

I have one card that I use for internet transactions. My thinking has been that if anything dodgy happened, it wouldn't affect my other banking. However, it's been many years now and never a problem.

You can choose not to save it. If you save it, that's the payment option that will be offered as the default option, quite similar to Amazon (but you can use another option as well). If you don't save it, you need to enter the card details each time. I haven't saved mine and to be fair to AliExpress, I have had zero problems in all the orders placed over the last few years.
  • umm, Ignoramus here, - how does it work if CVV not saved?

    It doesn't.

Online Payments do not require CVV. They will be processed without. Just like Amazon do or any continuous payment authority (CPA) is.
It's a myth that online payments require CVV. It is just another level of security for retailer if they wish to use it.

As mentioned, just don't tick the box to save card details.

Used AE loads of times, either with Amex card or debit card via Paypal. Never had issues.

Delivery times are a bit ropey this time of year, even with Choice delivery
