    Hello All

I have read the newbie thread and just wanted to confirm something.

I received the same letter ‘notice of debt recovery’ from DCBL and the client is G24 Ltd for a 2019 ‘contravention’

I sold the vehicle a few years ago but have not changed address at all.

Is there anything I need to do?

I’m in England and it’s only a few months away till it reaches 6 years

    Thanks
Yes, please start your own thread if you want further help and advice after reading the replies above

Plenty of recent G24 threads with similar letters, prior to a court claim

    Hello

Trust everyone is gearing up for a good holiday season.  :)

    Bit of an update, wee wrote to both DCLB and G24 to notify them to delete any previous address as we had moved.  We have had no acknowledgement from DCLB on the notification, not sure if that is a concern in itself, but G24 have responded with the following;

In order to process your request, we need to perform an identity verification check. Please provide a copy of the following:

    • A copy of your V5 form and Driving License showing the same address.
    • Your previous address in full

Once I have this information, I will be able to provide you your data.

The car was sold earlier in the year, and we no longer have the remainder of the old V5...  Is there any advice how should we respond to this or just send a copy of the drivers licence?

    Many thanks

Yep, tell them the vehicle was sold.  Attach your driver's licence but with your DOB and photo covered. And/or a utility bill.  Tell them to get over themselves and erase the old address without further delay.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Perfect, thank you, will go on that basis.

    Thanks again.

    Hello All

After all this time, I have finally received a letter of claim from DCBLegal.  We have roughly 8 month until the 6 year period.  We also tried picking this up with the original shop and the client G24 but they where of no help.  Do we need to add any reasons at this stage?

Next Actions, Do I just respond with the following back to DCBLegal to the info@dcblegal.co.uk address, just before the 30 day responding requirement?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Dear Sirs,
    Your Ref. ############
    Proposed Legal Proceedings

    Claimant: xxxxxx xxxxxxxx Ltd

I refer to your your letter of claim.

I confirm that my address for service for the time being - assuming you don't faff about and delay any claim - is as follows, and any older address must be erased from your records:[Correct address here]

The alleged debt is disputed and any court proceedings will be vigorously defended.

I am sourcing and seeking independent debt advice and as such, I formally request that this matter be put on hold for an additional 30 days, in accordance with the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims 2017 ('the PAP').

I note that the amount being claimed has increased by a hugely exaggerated amount which the Government called "extorting money from motorists".

I have two questions, and under the PAP I am entitled to specific answers:

    1. Am I to understand that the additional £70 represents the additional 'Debt Recovery' fee, and if so, is this nett or inclusive of VAT? If the latter, would you kindly explain why I am being asked to pay the operator’s VAT?

    2. With regard to the principal alleged PCN sum: Is this damages, or will it be pleaded as consideration for parking?

    Yours faithfully

It'll do. You will get a claim anyway.

    No worries!

    Hi,

Latest update, we sent the acknowledgement to the Letter of claim as outlined above, which was sent by email.

We have received an email from them last week from DCBLegal with an attached copy of the Contractual Parking Charge Notice, along with an outline stating than we we park on private land we enter a contract etc etc.

They have given us another 30 days to make the £170 payment, failure to make payment will result in a claim being issued against us without any further reference.

They have also asked for us to 'furnish them' with your most up to date email address, even though we have already been corresponding to them on it.

Now we are into May and the offence was in December 2019.

What would be the advice on next steps with this now?

As always many thanks for the guidance with this.

    Thanks
