Hi during lockdown we had an IKEA kitchen installed. The kitchen was planned and designed by them. The kitchen measurements were taken by them.
Our fitter installed the kitchen but discovered that their measurements were incorrect and this left a gap along one edge of the worktop.
We complained to IKEA and our fitter sent them the correct measurements. They agreed to replace the worktop and to pay £1500 towards the installation of the new worktop. For lots of reasons we were unable to get the work done initially the fitter could not do it then would not so we had to find another. We then had to take in to our small flat someone who was ill and this meant the work got further delayed. I checked on a couple of occassions that despite the delays we were OK and that there were no issues with IKEA. However in August this year when i discussed the same with IKEA they told me that they were no longer prepared to pay the £1500.
Anythoughts

"during lockdown" is a bit vague. When was it?

We're having a nightmare with IKEA at the moment, which is fun to work through. Their kitchens seem to be struggling...
When was the offer made? Do you have anything in writing that clarifies exactly how long they'd extend the offer for?Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
The fact that you checked a couple of times that the offer was still valid should stand you in good stead. They seem to have withdrawn their offer with no notice, and without specifying that it was time limited. Good practice suggests that they should have at least warned you that their offer was about to expire, rather than just let it do so and leave you in the lurch.
With evidence, I would expect you to be successful if you were to sue them in the small claims court. If you have home insurance, check to see if you have legal expenses insurance. If you do, call the Legal Helpline provided by your insurer before you do anything else. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
