Roofer asking for more money after doing the job

Hello, I recently had my garage roof done and changed the previous roof which was asbestos to corrogated bitumen sheets. The roofer gave me a quote of £700 for the removal and disposal of the old roof and installation of a new one. After almost finishing the job, he told me that the price for the disposal was higher than he anticipated, that I should pay an extra fee of £235. He has completed the job although we are still having an issue of a hole he couldn’t close, because according to him if he should close the two holes it might mean installing new sheets which may mean also opening my neighbours garage roof to install the sheets, but the reason I had the roof changed in the first place is because it’s leaking and if the hole remains and still leaking it means there was no need changing the roof( Note: there was no hole previously there, it was during the removal that they created that hole). He has managed to use some glues and patches to cover the holes which he says he won’t gurantee if it leaks. After all these he is still insisting I pay him extra money which wasn’t in the quote. He saw the job before the quote and I took almost two days plus before accepting the quote.

£700 sounds very cheap for removal of asbestos and to replace the roof, since the £235 is directly for waste you could ask for his waste carriers licence registration number which can be verified here

If he hasn't got one he might forget the extra money....
Regarding the quality of work, it's very hard to say from a brief description OP, could you post some photos of both the whole roof and any areas you are concerned about? In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces2 -
I have the quote sent to me in text sent through WhatsApp0

He’s saying he’s given me a grace of 2 weeks to pay up or else he’s taking court action1

Well, before I gave him the job, he said he had the licence to remove and dispose asbestos. That was why I gave him the job1

Generally any changes to a contract should be agreed by both parties so I don't see he has a claim for extra if he gave a quote and then asked for more after the job was complete.
A decent builder should be too busy to go to court over £200 any way, they'd earn more working in the time spent dealing with the claim, some people make an emotional decision in these situations so it's no guarantee but, it's likely to be bluster to scare you in to paying.

If he does OP that's great and if he does he won't have any problem giving you the registration number

I wouldnt even do that.
Respond saying you have a written quote and that you aren’t satisfied with the quality of his work anyway1 -

OP has hired a cowboy, this is evident by quoting via Whatsapp, leaving the roof with problems that didn't exist before, using bitumen sheets (no self respecting trade would use) and now the issues with price. I'm sure that they haven't mentioned when a hazardous waste consignment note will be provided either.
It isn't possible to do the job for the price quoted (Asbestos disposal alone is several hundred pounds).
It'd bet my bottom dollar that they don't have a waste carriers licence and most likely have failed to remove the asbestos correctly.
OP have the sheets been double wrapped in plastic and labelled with warning stickers?
Have they been collected yet, or still at your property?
The threat of court action is surely bluster but I wouldn't be surprised if more threats follow...2
