Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
A friend is visiting us today - he was our EA for selling our old house but also a good friend. I have some mince pies ready 😊
SIL is now receiving dialysis as her kidneys aren’t functioning as they should. We will wait to hear news today but the expectation is that she will be in hospital for a good long while. We had a ‘use up dinner’ of leftover lasagne, salad, roast beef and cauliflower cheese last night. DH requested I cook some fries too (he rang whilst driving home from the hospital). It was great to clear some space in the fridge and not waste any food 👍🏻Tonight we will have a chilli beef stir fry, I just need to get some veg as the packets were short dated in A!di at the weekend.Have a wonderful time away Ruby x
Glad to hear your friends’ DH is improving @TA x
Hugs to all our poorly folk and family members under the weather x

God rest you merry, gentlemen
let nothing you dismay
remember, Christ, our Saviour
was born on Christmas day
to save us all from Satan’s power
when we were gone astray

Morning all! Quite dry so far, dw is on, tops have been tided, breakfast eaten and a friend is coming round in a bit, she's dropping her OH off to collect again at one. Didn't get to the allotment yesterday, wil try again today after friend has gone, unless I find my protractor and can measure up to do the trim on the outside of the sills. I'm fed up with waiting for the guy to come back and do it. Did manage to rake the back and de weed it and collect many lumps of cat poo, just got to flatten it a bit , then start laying the flags. Don't worry Izzy, I'll wait for the OH to move them, it is ,after all, his shed they're going underneathJust a day or sorting stuff out really. Not sure about supper, we had risotto last night, there is some left over but that'll probably be my dinner. I might just do a fry up if I can find some sausages.
Sorry to post and run but stuff won't get done if I don't move myself todayTake care all!

Morning everyone
It's bright and sunny here this morning but cold when I popped out to the bin.
I picked little one up from school yesterday and had tea with them, little one was full of chat and sang me lots of songs from her Christmas play and practised her lines. She has two - 'I have water for you' and 'you're only a camel' - she is so excited because last year she didn't have any!
I'm busy clearing my bedroom as DD is going to start painting it for me on Thursday, that and the bathroom...I've chosen a nice shade of yellow. I'll do the doors and skirting boards, but they might not get done until we're off school for Christmas.
Have a lovely time in Barcelona Ruby - I went a few years ago with eldest DD and loved it. Though we went in August when it was too hot.
Right, I'd better get on, hope all the poorlies are feeling better today.
Have a good day x

Morning All
I'm all alone in school - everyone has gone to the Panto at a local hall and my colleague has gone to another school to help with an admin problem so there's just me!
Pleased to hear Rob had a good day Ruby - have a great break in Barcelona.
Fingers crossed the new meds work TA and congrats on the coat!
Sorry to hear SIL is so unwell Coxy.
Hope your Dad's phone problems are sorted Nanny.
I read your post as flattening cat poo taff!
Cold and frosty this morning when I came to work although it's a bit milder now, I think there's rain due this afternoon. The painter is letting himself in to the house before I get home to fix a problem with the new coving in the kitchen.
My last order arrived yesterday, well done Royal Mail, they actually read the delivery instructions for once.
Got a great video of the little one sat on a model camel in a playground in Morocco singing a Christmas song from her nativity that involves camels!
Have a good day, take care. XX10 -
Today's weather seems to be a rinse & repeat of yesterday - damp and dull, feeling mild with a promise of a bit of sun later in the day.
Grocery delivery has arrived, all P&C, just to put away now. There's a parcel due that's currently somewhere in the ether and might come today or more likely tomorrow. I still have the click & collect Xmas tree to go for and I need to order a new e-repeat prescription for myself otherwise I'll be running out of tablets over the festivities. And DH's ashes are back for collection when I'm ready.
Today I'll be carrying on with the decluttering that I started yesterday. I'd done a lot earlier in the year but, for obvious reasons, it got put on the back burner when DH was on end of life care. The CS bags and boxes are multiplying at an alarming rate and I'm hoping DS can be available to help remove them all sooner rather than later.
Happy new coat @TA and good to hear your friend's DH is making progress.
@Coxy11 - So sorry your SiL is likely to be in hospital for a good while, I hope you get better news soon.
Tea tonight is sausages, sliced/fried leftover potatoes and mushy peas, also leftovers.
Right, must put away this shopping before I do anything else. Take care, hugs where needed or wanted. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Morning all, it's a bright but cold day. Well Dad's phone is kaput but it didn't help that he tried to fix it himself and made a pigs ear. He has borrowed an old one of ours (but it's corded) for the time being until we get him a new one and now we just need him to decide which one he wants, one handset or 2 etc ?
I collected our meds but some of mine were unavailable so I have to go back to collect the rest, it's not a problem and I'll call in towards the end of the week. I did some washing yesterday afternoon but it's not all dry so I'll leave it draping the airer.
I'm not sure what today will bring, I have plenty of things I can do including writing my xmas cards. Sadly we've lost 2 more people this year so our numbers are dwindling rapidly.
RedRuby have a lovely break.
Rosy I too had a voucher for £15, it would be a shame not to use it. I put it towards a frozen turkey crown. I hope your DH is feeling a bit better and more comfortable.
Camelot I bet school will be deadly quiet for you today, hope you're alright with being alone.
Coxy hugs for your SiL.
taff I too read it as flattening cat poo 😂
Right I'd better show willing and get going.
Take care all
nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -
Got back, just in time before the darkness comes. I went off early doors to do some veggie shopping as I've got appointments on each day this week and don't want to run out of soup.
Then I tackled the left-over banking as I had abandoned it yesterday, it's proving more tricky than usual so I've abandoned it again.
It's so lovely to hear of happy grandchildren, grumpy parents, busy adults and Christmas stuff. I got my first card today along with a belated thank you from my cousin who had the birthday party in August. Better late...I hope that everyone has had a good day, making music, baking cakes, cooking up a storm and wrapping gifts.8 -
@-taff- I read it that way too - interesting the way minds work. It actually made sense to me at first.
