Hi, I had an issue with damp on one wall of my house, had damp proofing membrane and injections done by a company found on check a trade, the work came with a 10 year guarantee.
within a few months of having work done damp patches have reappeared.
I now realise the work they did was not what was needed so they incorrectly assed what needed to be done. I am getting them back round to look at it but don’t want to repeat the work as it will not solve the issue. It’s their fault they didn’t assess properly. Do you think in this case I can ask for a refund and if I do will they give a refund if they don’t what recourse do I have, I’m wondering about the ombudsman?

They normally claim that the original damp was rising damp, but what you have now is condensation.

What did your add on check a trade ask them to do? Their work may be guaranteed for 10 years, but not yours or their assessment.

What does the “10 year guarantee” say? I expect it will offer to redo the work if it is substandard rather than give you your money back, otherwise they would have advertised it as a “money back guarantee”. They may also have other get outs as mentioned above.
