Xbox subscription

Options
Hi All

probably answered but I couldn't find an answer when I searched unfortunately!!

My son has taken out a (think it was core) trial subscription for £1 initially and then recurring at £6.99 per month.

My queries are:
1) Is it possible to front load the subscription period via the 12 month cards available from CD Keys etc and redeem it via the redeem option (as it presumably a code on the card), so he would end up with 13 months before the subscription kicked in

2) is it possible to purchase more than 1 card, so in theory you could add an extra period, or, do they have redeem / expiry date?

TIA

    1) I believe you can only have one trial subscription per account that has not had a subscription before, so doubt this would work for what you intend. Trial (or any other subscription) can be cancelled before it renews at the end of subscription period after redeemed.
    2) no expiry date, but some can't be stacked. So you'd have to wait till one run out (making sure you cancel renewal before next payment due) and then add the next one. Theoretically this is fine but one caveat - it can be very annoying if you are unlucky enough to get codes that have already been used. I used CD Keys many times without issue. They then had non-stackable 1 month cards for much cheapness, I bought 5 and three did not work, saying codes already used. Was a complete nightmare to get MS to confirm they had not been put on our xbox account and prove it to CD Keys.
I use Eneba now and never had a used code. I generally buy three month cards now as they tend to be best value. Just ensure you buy the correct country - EU, Global, UK
There used to be a trick where you could buy 1-2 years of Live subsrciptions and then convert them to Ultimate for a bargain - sorry can't remember exactly how that worked. Not sure if there is a trick for Core.
