Buying a property from a landlord

i rent my property from my landlord. The landlord is in between mortgages so his original lender has passed the property over to a receive me to manage for the moment. The landlord has asked if I would like to buy the property which I would and he will use the money to pay off his mortgage. From a legal point of view can he sell it to me even though a receiver is currently managing the rental side of it?

So is the property actually owned by a limited company that has gone into administration?0

Hi. The property is privately owned. I can only assume the landlord hadn’t been paying his existing mortgage and has arrears and needs to sell to pay off the mortgage0

Sounds as if repossession proceedings will commence shortly. The matter is most likely out of your LL's hands.0
