John Lewis Recycling & Installation Service

Good Morning All,
Unfortunately this weekend our 9 year old Beko dishwasher has started to fail and isn’t heating up anymore. We are therefore looking to get a replacement but are looking at relieving some of the hassle by utilising the John Lewis Recycling and installation service. We’re obviously going to head into store to speak to a service representative however as they’ll be positive about anything John Lewis, I wondered if anyone had any experience of these services?
We also have the slight added complexity that they will have to lower the legs on the old integrated appliance (which they can do) for it to clear the gap between the tiled floor and the worktop. The dishwasher sits on the concrete and there’s a slight lip where the tiling starts. Whilst we know it will fit, we’re concerned that any form of slight inconvenience might cause us a problem. And of course they’ll have to do the same in reverse for the new machine!
Any comments/feedback on your experience would be appreciated.

I recently did this with a washing machine with Currys. The fact that the washing machine was integrated (and not standalone) meant I had to pay more for the installation and removal of the old washing machine. It also meant that their availability to come and do the work was reduced. It was all pretty straight forward though.
I know that Currys isn't John Lewis but it doesn't look like you'll be asking them to do anything overly complicated. If you're going into store anyway they should be able to tell you if they can do what you're asking for without issue.1 -
Thank you for sharing your experience. John Lewis do charge more for the integrated appliance installation (compared to stand alone), but for the convenience happy to pay!0

If you ever get the floor done again, have the flooring installed under the machines so that there’s no step?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Had JL deliver separate fridge and freezer no problem. Had MarksElectrical deliver a Dishwasher with no problem (and recycle the old one), a washing machine (recycled the old, plumbed it in) no problem and a tumble dryer. The dryer was the lightest of them all and was just to deliver it to the kitchen, the guys were terrible and said they'd give it one go of getting it upstairs (stairs were on the job sheet) and if it didnt go they'd either leave it in the downstairs bedroom or take it back. It went up in one and so didnt have the fight.
4 deliveries, 4 different teams, 3 of them no problem and 1 being annoying. Whilst it was Marks rather than JL, the chap was good, managed to uncease the tap hose, got it over the lip of the laminate and put it in.
Given how bad JL have become (had to litigate them over the faulty freezer they provided) I suspect they'll be as equally random as any other.
Certainly check exactly what is/isnt included, particularly if the kick board needs cutting etc (our old dishwasher required a cutout, new one didnt.1
