I'm unsure if this issue is in the right place, feel free to move it if its not...
But where do i stand? If i hadn't been forced into these prepayment meters the debt would have long been payed off by now. I'm not sure if the original £1 a day i was told they were going to take id have repaid by now but he said my account was show £400 negative, which to me says it would have been paid off within just over a year! even at £0.57 a day thats 2 years. so yeah.
Sorry if my ramblings aren't making much sense, i'm overly emotional right now..
- Back in Late 2019 Early 2020 I started a new job and it took me a while to realise 2 pay checks didn't go through, and a new payment plan id set up with my provider then SSE failed as the direct debit didnt go through, Basically i was told i HAD to have prepayment installed due to 2 "failed" payment plans in a 12 month period, baring in mind the last one wasn't my fault when my employer at the time didn't put my correct details into their system!
- Anyway Today ALL these years later paying on my prepayment accounts i find out they havent been collecting the debt! I'm certainly not in a place that can even afford the extra 57p or how ever much they want to add per day.. So i told them that.

Sorry but I think you are unfairly aiming your frustration at the energy provider and I certainly dislike when people blow off steam at call handlers.
You say 'the last one [payment plan failing] wasn't my fault' as your employer inputted incorrect details into their system, but it's also not the energy providers fault? As cold-hearted as this sounds, I would suggest it is your fault as you are ultimately responsible for ensuring you have sufficient funds to meet your obligations. You also hint at another failed payment plan which you imply was your fault.
You seem to be upset that they haven't been collecting on the debt, but simultaneously suggest you don't have the surplus income to meet a 57p per day repayment (£17 per month), have you had a change in circumstances, or are you suggesting you would have reduced your spend in the past to meet this, but you can't reduce your spend now?
You seem to accept there is a debt, though are against a plan to pay it back, so what do you think should happen?
At the moment it kind of seems like you're passing the buck to the energy provider when I can't see what they've done wrong. If I lost my job tomorrow, I would still have to pay my bills.Know what you don't0 -
I agree about blowing of steam with the call handlers, if I have a problem I always state I know it is not your fault but I am extremely frustrated can you help me resolve the problem, you would be surprised how well its helps. These are people doing their jobs and need to treated with the respect you expect from others.
As regards 57 pence a day unfortunately like the rest of us you will have to make some changes, failing that they may take legal action which will add to your debt.12 x 370 Watt J A panels Solis 3.6 invertor. Solax AC invertor and 5.8 triple battery0
