Dull and damp after some rain last night and it seems a bit cooler but still calm. Yesterday turned out much better than I thought it would, the sun eventually came out and we had clear blue skies again.
Hope you're feeling a bit better today @RedRuby1231.
Wave to @SkylineExplorer, welcome aboard.
Have to agree @ScarletRibbons - where I am it's hard to get a GP appointment but fast track referrals seem to happen very quickly as does appropriate treatment, depending on the nature of the beast.
Yesterday I got the grocery delivery order done (and paid for with loyalty points), finalised the November household accounts (all good), froze the curry portions and did a quick tidy up of the freezer drawers. I didn't do any baking but instead went for a walk and it was almost Spring-like. I popped into the Co-op for the next TV guide that was out early and noticed the cheeky beggars have put the price up. The increase used to happen with the first issue of the New Year, last year it was with the Xmas issue and this year it's the beginning of December!
However, I did bag some YS bargains - celery that I'll use for soup and 6 packets of fajita mix/paste. I wouldn't buy these at full price - £1.40 and £1.60 respectively - but, at 29p each and dated into 2026, I wasn't going to ignore them!
Once home, I slobbed out on the sofa and, unusually for me, during the day, put the TV on and watched Sean the Sheep - The Flight Before Christmas. I can never decide if these are made for children or adults but it made me chuckle. Then followed a comedy film called Nativity! that was suspiciously like an earlier one called Clockwise starring John Cleese. A snooze, tea and knitting filled the rest of the day. All in all, slothful and enjoyable but I must stir my stumps today and get some cleaning done. Tea tonight is spag bol, apple pie and ice cream for afters.
Best wishes to all for a peaceful and stress free week, hugs where needed/wanted. X

Morning all, it's dry and sunny but still only 7 degrees. Never mind I enjoy the sun any day, it lifts my mood tremendously.
We had several phone calls from Dad yesterday about his broken house phone so we're going up today and Mr Fix It will take a look at it. We have a spare one to tie him over and I'll also take his shopping up. I'll have a look in his freezer too as he has no idea what's in there, I think I'll make a list for him and pin it on his wall.
He has the local plumbing service calling mid day as 3 of his downstairs radiators are not getting hot, only lukewarm, but for some reason he wants us gone before they come 🤷♀️. We'll call in the village pharmacy afterwards as hopefully our meds will be ready.
Scarlet my fingers are crossed that DH's tests are all negative.
taff thanks, now I'll have that tune playing in my head all day 🤣 Reminds me of Chevy Chase singing it.
AA well done on putting your tree up, Mr Fix It is talking about doing ours later this week. It'll probably take us 2 days 😂
I hope all the shoppers have a productive day and the poorly ones feel a bit better.
Take care all

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons. I hope your DH's tests turn out okay xx
I didn't get on over the weekend. We had BFF and her DH here for lunch on Saturday then DS1/DIL and Mum came for Sunday roast. We were very spoilt at our previous house with counter space, I'm thinking of getting a kitchen trolley type thing as it was a bit chaotic dishing up 7 meals with barely any space. First world problems.
Today I'm off out with DSis and Mum. Not sure where but I'll take my Christmas list in case I spot anything suitable for a niece or nephew. I did a few online orders on Friday, and most have arrived already, so I'm getting there.
SIL is in hospital with pneumonia and Covid, so DH has gone to see BIL today. They intubated her last night so it's all very worrying and neither of us slept well. I went for a run first thing to clear my head which has helped with the anxiety.
Thank you @-taff for the Christmas songs - very much appreciated. I always wondered what happened to Tru. I named one of her chickens "Donna"No Christmas decorations up here yet, bit early for us although DD is chomping at the bit, so I might let her get on with it!!
Hope the Snoozers get better soon, and those with cold weather are managing to stay warm.
Have a good day all.

Morning all. Had to post and run because I was up early doors, showered, dressed, then had to clean the fire ready for the chimney sweep, clean it, hoover it, clean the doors etc and get ready for the docs, both virtualy at the same time so OH stayed back to let the sweep in while I was at the docs and went to work when I got home.Coxy, tru last did the carols 4 years ago but I was a nosey thing and had a check of last onine, it was August 2023, so there's always the chance she'll be back at some point...I have the back to rake and then I think I'll go to the allotment for a couple of hours. There's one load of washing in, another to go, some will go in the tumble, some on the horse, because I'm not playing will it won't it with the rain...Lots of shopping going on I see, congrats on being so rganised, hope you have a nice day Ruby, shame about Robs mum again, hope she's paid you now! YorksLass, Shaun the Sheep is a good shout, I might do that later
Scarlet, fingers crossed for your DH...Rosy, swift healing to your OH. snoozer, I wish for less bugs for you all next year!
Watch out for cold snaps, dress warm, drink stuff , eat stuff... [ that means you too Izzy because who cares in the winter?

Good morning, dull and raining here.
Yesterday I got a few of my jobs done. Cleared out the bathroom cupboard, no surprises, just needed a good tidy.
Izzy, I also need to reign in my grocery costs. I am a saddo who tracks my spends and it looks like this year will come in at £200 less than last year, but it's still too much, I could do better.
Ruby, how sad for Rob, his mum could have treated him.
Scarlet, fingers and toes crossed for DHs results.
YL, I was concerned for you as I read that you sobbed all day. Must go to Specsavers!
Taff, thank you for the Carol's, much appreciated. Tru, if you're reading this let us know how you are.
Hugs to all our poorlies, hope you feel better.11 -
Just popping back in while I have a coffee break from the decluttering that I'm attempting doing.
So sorry to hear your SiL is in hospital @Coxy11 - fingers crossed for some good news.
Slow down @-taff - I feel exhausted just reading about your day.
@remmie - That had me laughing out loud!Be kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Afternoon, a quick one from me before I get ready to get DGS,DS1 is taking me. Thanks for the good wishes for DH - I've never thought of him as a Mr. Rosy before
He's certainly been better the last couple of days & not as grumpy, yay, but he is sleeping & moving a bit better now so that helps, and he managed a shower sat on his special stool. My DB2 popped in this morning which cheered him up too.
Scarlet, hope DH tests come back ok xThanks for the carols @-taff . I put all the decs up over the weekend, early for us but@ we need a bit of Xmas cheer!Get well soon @snoozer . Hope you enjoy the day RR, and TA ( I like Boundary Mill too) Hope SIL is ok @Coxy11 Sorry if I've forgotten anything important, my mind is overloaded atm.Right better get organised, take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
