Order of Service for Memorial Service

My sister died recently and I am attempting to assist my grief stricken brother in law with the organisation of a memorial service.
She was cremated overseas so there are no funeral directors involved in this country.
Can anyone recommend a suitable template for an order of service and where to get them printed?
My sister was a brilliant administrator with a creative bent, so whilst I have been heavily involved in choosing hymns, readings etc etc for family funerals in the past, I’m a bit clueless with this practical side of things.

Is this going to be a religious event ie in a church?

This was the outline template  / order put together by a clergyman for my mother - (she was welsh... the psalms were favourites but you could use poems or readings )

    Welcome and Introduction
    ● Psalm 100
    ● Opening Prayers
    ● Hymn 1 - Love Divine all Loves Excelling
    ● Tribute - history
    ● Hymn 2 - How great Thou Art

       Reading

    ● Reflection - Reverend H
    ● Listen to a piece of music by welsh choir
    ● Prayers ending with the Lord’s Prayer

       Song by music group

    ● Hymn 3 - Guide me oh  Thou Great Redeemer
    ● Psalm 121
    ● Blessing

I got the orders of service printed locally - there was a chap who seemed to do little else and worked to a good timescale and knew what was needed.

there seems to be quite a few sites which let you design your own but I would suggest any local print shop would be happy to do the same for you.

Some lovely ideas which are similar to some of those that I had already formulated.
My main difficulty is in actually coming up with the physical order of service and incorporating pictures etc.

In my experience funeral directors generally outsource the printing of the Orders of Service to a local printing firm, so you could either politely ask a funeral director who they use, or simply look in the yellow pages or similar for print firms.
Googling 'order of service printing' gves quite a few online companies ....

Where is the service going to be held? If it's in a place of worship of some description, the relevant religious figure will be well placed to help.

There are plenty of websites with helpful suggestions and information eg https://farewill.com/articles/how-to-plan-a-memorial-service
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

agree with the others - I just googled order of service printing and town name - memory was that you could either do your own PDF with family pictures (one of the grandchildren wanted to do this and did a lovely job) and they print straight from this or for a bit more ££ they will do the layout for you - the ones I found were very helpful and advised on which photos would look best and I think touched up the colours etc

@woolly_wombat have a look at this website, they give advice about structuring the order of service but also describe the services provided eg doing the full artwork for you. There is bound to be something similar to this where you live https://www.jaymillprint.com/products_services/
  • I have bookmarked this company who I believe were recommended on another forum, but I haven't had to use them yet.
