Boots Online - Change 2FA Phone Number

We’ve been struggling a bit with the Boots website. For a variety of reasons when Boots introduced two factor authentication my wife had to use a friend’s phone number for the 2FA message and ever since said friend gets the passcode despite my wife’s Boots account now having the correct (ie my wife’s) phone number.
Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? The temporary fix has had them both in the room and my wife checking the “don’t ask for passcode on this device” once successfully logged in, but that seems a colossal kludge.

Funnily enough, I had problems with the Boots website this morning and it's not the first time it's happened to me. I can log in with my email address and password and receive the code but it still doesn't log me in.
I telephoned Customer Services and they were happy to take my order over the phone but it didn't resolve the problem.
They guessed it might be something to do with using Google Chrome in my case. 🤔 I think there's something wrong with website.1 -
