Morning all - pinch punch, first of the month. Thanks to @Scarlet for the start and another thanks to @Taff for the carol. 'Tis the season already. My day yesterday was so much less productive than many. I went into town early doors for my meds, big sign on the pharmacy door to say that they could only be collected between 11.a.m. and 1.00p.m. cos of 'unforeseen circumstances'. Grrrr, so back home I went. Hung about doing inconsequential stuff until it was time to go out again for them.Once home I settled down to watch the delightful very old film ' The shop on the corner' with a young James Stewart and Margaret O'Sullivan, I hadn't seen it before so it was lovely to watch, and only 90 minutes long! Lunch was left over macaroni cheese with a pile of veggies. Today it'll be some tasty home made soup with something or other.Everyone seems knee-deep in Christmas prep whilst I'm mostly done! I've already sorted out theatre tickets and Taskmaster experience tickets for my nephew and family in England, a bunch of money for my Oz niece who is going back home soon to go travelling, Gigha sauces for two sets of friends, a tiny tree each for two other friends (and one for myself) and a book for my the crossword friend. Earlier I sent two other friends a Tom Martin glass bauble each, I send them every year so they have quite a collection now. And I've sent a wedge of money to my SIL in Oz to pay for things for her four grandchildren from her son / my nephew. I've asked that she doesn't buy toys but spends it on experiences or events. They have far too many toys already. As I don't send cards I think that I am done. Now I can truly hibernate and ignore it all.My beloved cousin in Berlin has sent me a Christmas parcel of German goodies. I had requested only some nougat (not the same stuff as here) but he's added in so much stuff, all in good spirit though I will hardly eat any of it - apart from the nougat of course. My joy in returning his generosity is now somewhat diluted as his youngest daughter now lives in London so she sends him goods regularly - mostly Branston Pickle.@Rosy - I remember that the worst part of my hip replacement was having to sleep on my back for six weeks, it was torture. It's one of the reasons why I won't hurry to have my other hip replaced. I hope he soon recovers. There's only high winds here and fairly mild though I won't be fooled by it, Arctic blast coming in tomorrow so more jumpers brought out, more wood brought in and matches at the ready. I hope that everyone is warm and well, not overdoing it and / or getting better.12

Morning all, I been trying to write this post for about an hour but have been beset with interruptions. First Dad to say that he had dropped his house phone in his bathroom basin which was full of water so he needed advice but it took us half an hour to get the information out of him as he kept turning his mobile off mid sentence and then a delivery man with a parcel for Tom over the road, plus a scam call.
Yesterday I found some mince beef in the freezer so I made a cottage pie for today. Mr Fix It pulled a face so he can have some chips with his and I'll have veg.
At the moment I'm waiting for my sm delivery, there are a few changes but nothing major.
Thanks taff for the tune.
Hope everyone has a good day. Take care all

Morning All
Been out to the Christmas fair in the next village, have had first coffee of the day and Advent calendars have been opened. Beef stew bubbling away in SC.
Taff thank you for the first Carol of the month
Well done to all those who have finished Christmas gifts.
I sent cards yesterday mainly second class so they should get there.
Today we are putting the trees ( yes plural) up. My DH loves all the Dec's etc including his latest new purchase a santa who goes up and down in his chimney.
I bought a few more bits on A****n yesterday but think I am almost done. I have got DH and DD their birthday gifts all in Christmas week.
Sending hugs to all who want them, have a good day all

Morning all
Pouring with rain here which will continue all day, I have stripped the beds and got the bedding in the wm it will have to go in the TD today.
I am still full of gunk on my chest but getting better all the time I’m trying to blow my nose a lot to shift it, I feel ok though so it’s on the way out.
Dinner tonight will be roast beef with all the trimmings and my beloved yorkshires 😃 this will be the last roast we have before Christmas so need to make the most of it.
I am going to write my cards later and get the ones that need posting in the box, I only really send to elderly relatives and my neighbours now so not many to post.
Taff thanks for continuing Tru’s carol corner I do love it, I wonder if Tru is doing ok xx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
