Auto Aid

Advertised on here as £57  I have been with them for years and never called them out.  Just had my credit card bill and they have charged me £73.64
Every year Martin says they are good so I stay with them.....Why am I being charged sooooo much???  There is now only ONE car being covered....Why the increase????

Did you not receive something (post or email) to advise you of the increase?

Then again - £16 is not a huge increase if they provide a good service.  Assuming of course that you've been charged £57 in the past!!  Just cuz that's what Martin says you might be charged doesn't mean that's what you will be charged.

What is the date on the article that says £57? Inflation has been high for a number of years.

Secondly, it's likely to be the new business price. Outside of Car and Home insurance the normal practice of cheap new business and higher existing prices is currently considered acceptable as it is in most other industries.

I had the same thing happen and queried it. You're correct the offer is for new business only. As I have 2 cars this deal is still good for me and I've had excellent service when I did claim. I'm also thinking some of the costs of claims have probably gone up generally as they have for Car insurers? DGG may know more about this?

My autoaid is due and I'm amazed anyone can be surprised after the charge has been made as they have emailed me at least once a week for 4 weeks reminding me to renew.

Price is £63.64 plus £10 spouse cover.

I'm moving to another provider though as their cover no longer meets my needs.
