If it is cheaper than your current tariff then switch - providing of course there is no penalty as some Eon tariffs did have a change tariff clause rather than change supplier.  What is your current unit rate and standing charge and the new rates and tariff name ?  For me it is showing v14 as dearer than the current cap !

is there a fee for changing things?  potentially having £75 to pay to change is more than potentially saving £15.

Even if it says no exit fee unless changing supplier, you may still get charged by Eon and have to call up to get it removed. This has happened to a few others, including myself so keep an eye on your transactions list after you've switched.

  • I'm on that tariff until May '25. They did offer me another longer fix which they estimated would be a few £ cheaper. However, I didn't take them up because, although the unit rates are less, that daily charge "rip off" (my opinion, if that's allowed) is higher. Similar to your "new tariff" rates.
  • Well those figures show your new tariff is clearly more expensive .

The electricity standing charge is less, though, so a relatively low user might end up with a cheaper bill overall. Agree that it's likely to work out more expensive for a more typical user.

Do you know how to work out the costs for a tariff?
Multiply the daily standing charge by 365 to get annual cost.
Look at your bill to find annual use in kWh - muliply this figure by the unit rate.
Add those two figures together (ususlly the figures quoted include VAT), this is the annual cost
Do that for gas, do that for electric on each tariff you are interested in.
Then you can compare the annual cost and see which is cheaper. Remember to factor in exit fees.
Sometimes it's cheaper to be on different tarrifs for gas and electric, or be with different suppliers.

I have put in an estimate for your annual kWh, based on that, the new tarrif is cheaper for electric but more expensive for gas. You haven't said if the new tariff is fixed. There are some good fixed rates available just now, you have to compare them to what you have. Fixes will likely get more expensive in the coming months as the price cap is due to go up in Jan and possibly in April.
