Morning allDamp but a bit milder this morning.Stripped the bed and will make it up later after an airing. Made a chocolate sponge so waiting for that to cool before I ice it. Might do some Christmas cards later and check how many stamps I need. I agree the price of stamps is ridiculous.Hope everyone has a good day x12

Morning everyone
I've had a lovely lie in this morning. It seems mild here and there's a bit of a breeze so I'll get my washing out for a blow.
DD and little one got home safely yesterday, I expect I'll see them later, they had a lovely time at Butlins.
Other than that, it's just going to be a pottering day for me too - I have lots of little jobs to do and could make a start on the wrapping...I like doing it once I get started.
Right, I'll start with hanging the washing outside - hope everyone has a good day today x

Hello all, it's wet but mild. I slept all night and didn't even have to get up for a break. Must have needed that.
I have already put a load in the wm and stripped the bed, the bedding can go in later but there's little chance of anything drying outside today. I'll remake the bed later after the bed has aired a bit.
The downstairs needs a hoover and the freezers need tidying ready for a sm delivery tomorrow. Similarly the fridge needs sorting and cleaning.
We had a conversation with DGS about xmas yesterday and he wants money so that's him sorted, but I'll do some little things for him to open on the morning. That's as far as I have got in relation to xmas, oh and I've got cards but they are not written out, I can't seem to get into the spirit this year at all.
Take care all, have a happy day if you can 🧡

A late good morning from me, for the first time in months I had a lie in so it was actually light when I surfaced! We had some rain overnight but it's blue skies and very calm with highs of 13 deg. Overcoats warmer, as my DM used to say. I'm another one in the "vague ideas" club today, I think I'll just do some gentle pottering of whatever takes my fancy.
@Chrisca50 - I might give the WT&S Club a try tomorrow. And I notice they're showing The Beiderbecke Affair too that I used to like.
Healing wishes for a speedy recovery for DH @RosyRed. You take care, it's hard playing Nursie!
Good to hear things seem to be improving at school for your DGD @remmie, but a shame she isn't well. So many little ones with winter bugs.
@camelot1001 - I like the word "guddle". It seems as if you have a busy day today, don't overdo it!
I'm with you @mehefin - I'll be glad to see the back of this year too.
I did a bit more in the bedroom yesterday but still not entirely finished - doesn't matter, I'm the only one who sees it!
The call back appointment with Yorks Water went well - old account in DH's name closed, new one opened in my name, credit applied to mine (we're on assessed charges) so just £35-odd to pay in December and then that's done until next April. One down, several still in the pipeline, but at least it's progress.
The ever smiling Georgiou delivered the pair of trousers I'd ordered and I'll be keeping them. Lovely fabric in a small black and white dogtooth check, perfect for casual wear with a jumper or a bit dressier with a plain blouse/jacket. I've also ordered a small 1.5m Xmas tree on click & collect (thanks for the idea @TA). The old tree and baubles can go in the CS pile.
DS phoned yesterday to ask if I needed/wanted him to visit this weekend but I said he should have the weekend to himself for some chill time. Workwise this week he's travelled from West Yorks to Durham, on to Edinburgh, then to Birmingham and back and next week he's in Aberdeen for three days. Good job he likes driving!
Right, brunch is calling and then I'll decide what I want to do today. Happy St Andrews Day to our Scottish contingent. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Morning all
Damp and drizzly here and set in for the day I have some washing on the go but it will have to be hung indoors today.
we had a lovely night out last night for DD’s birthday a lot of her friends came and there were 13 of us for a meal and drinks it was very lovely with many tears from dd.
Going to be an easy day today but I do need to finish packing for Barcelona we go on Wednesday so something else to look forward to.
Not sure about dinner tonight I will go and have a rummage in the freezer after this.
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
WickedLady4 said:This afternoon I'm playing at a different Christmas Street Fair so I hope it's just as warm. My fingers do get cold as I'm standing around and then I'm more likely to play a wrong note!Sounds like it shouldnt work but get yourself some wrist warmers. I've made a few pairs for myself from old long socks, just cut the foot part off, put your jumper sleeves under them and pull them to your knuckles. If your hands are warm to start with they'll keep your fingers warmer and if they're cold, it'll take about twenty mintues, half an hour to warm them up.Happy St Andrews day! Plumber is here so no time today...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11
