The temperature here is on double figures again. It seems weird though an 'Arctic blast' is promised for next week so I'll make the most of it.My drive way down the peninsula yesterday was murky until I reached the coast. The sea was gleaming and rough, lots of white horses dancing in it whilst Arran was clear. Hair got cut and coloured and I enjoyed good chats with the hairdresser. I didn't get home until 3.30pm so had a big bowl of soup. Really late on I had a lovely long call with my SIL in Queensland. She really tries hard to persuade me go back out to visit them for the winter, that's not going to happen. 😀This morning I have to collect some meds and then go with any flow. I had vague notions of going up to Oban but they are not fully formed, I'm still debating with myself about it.Keep warm and safe all. Hugs to our poorlies.13

Morning folks and thanks GERS for starting off. Similar to you, I have all sorts of "vague notions" of what to do while lying snug in bed but once up I start dithering and what seemed like a good idea at the time soon isn't!
As it is now I think I may stay put and resume the half hearted preps for Christmas which got abandoned yesterday. I can at least bag or wrap the presents I have already got and write the cards as well. Wrapping will continue after I have bought the rest! A trip to Boundary Mill with SIL has been planned for Monday so hopefully I will get the rest there.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. ROSY I hope your DH makes good progress. Take care all and stay safe xx.

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
Doesn't seem as cold here as it has been.
I too am dithering about what to do today - I think it'll have to be Christmas prep like TA.
I've never been so unprepared, and I'm going to have to pull myself together! I'm not posting many cards owing to the ridiculous cost of stamps, but I think a lot of people will do the same this year.
Hope our poorly people are feeling better, take care folks.13 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
It's getting lighter and the weather could go either way. Bedding has been washed and is on the pulley, will probably do another load later once I've been in the shower.
It was the Christmas fair at school yesterday, only stayed for an hour then it got a bit manic so crept off. I did win a couple of things in the tombola. Once home I tackled some much needed housework, what with the painters being here last weekend and the sofas going on Thursday the whole place was in a guddle. I put together an armchair I bought from Ikea - possibly the most difficult item I have ever tackled but I got there in the end.
The glass arrived for the fire so between the trusty sweep and my friend across the road it was all fixed when I got home so the fire was lit and I enjoyed sitting in a nearly empty living room by the fire!
As I woke up early this morning I have wrapped two of the DGC's Christmas presents, a job I really dislike but it has to be done. Will do some more this afternoon.
Lots to do today, shopping, visit the allotment and look for some plate stands so I can put the big serving dishes on top of the kitchen units, they have previously been held in place with blu tac!
Hope you are all well and have a good weekend. Take care. XX11 -
Good morning. Dull start but at least it's dry and feels milder.
Another one not sure what to do today, just going to go with the flow. Big dog has just got up and been sick (sorry tmi), so my first job awaits.
Have a good day all.12 -
Morning all.
It's certainly a lot milder here. I was playing for the Morris at a Christmas Lights event last night and I just added a t shirt under my shirt; it was plenty warm enough.
This afternoon I'm playing at a different Christmas Street Fair so I hope it's just as warm. My fingers do get cold as I'm standing around and then I'm more likely to play a wrong note! Not sure what time we'll get home but it will be after 6pm so will probably pick up a takeaway from our lovely Thai restaurant.
We defrosted the garage freezer yesterday, by squeezing everything into the kitchen one, so now there's space for a delivery due next week. We'll eat up a couple of lamb steaks tomorrow, with some roasted veg.
Happy Saturday everyone.

Morning everyone and 'thank you' for starting us off Gers.
Yesterday's weather was good, so I went in the garden and swept up the leaves and generally tidied round.
Not sure about today's weather - it's not cold but damp out.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Morning all from a dull but surprisingly mild Mehefinland
Another ditherer here. Ought to go to Mr T but cba. Need to get some more cards from the CRUK shop in the next town. I'm determined to spend my loot there in support. Had the difficult task of writing some Xmas cards last night and it was hard just signing off with my name after all these years. Going through the address book I realised there were a couple of people who would not have heard my news, so that was doubly difficult. The cost of stamps is criminal and unfortunately we had several elderly contacts who don't 'do' mobile phones and computers so the easy option of email cards is out of the question. At least it whiled away a bit of time, as if I hadn't got enough to do. The problem is that the bulk of the work is daylight dependent, and the evenings sometimes seem very long. Nothing new there.
Big car's battery is not holding its charge and wouldn't start yesterday. It just isn't being used as I still have my little runabout. Should consider getting rid of one or the other really - might donate the smaller one to DS when his eventually dies, The daily mileage he does for work is starting to take its toll, on him and the car. But at least he has a job!
Hard to think it will be December tomorrow. this is one year I shall be glad to see the back of but I have a lot of 'firsts' to get through before then. At least the sadmin seems to be completed so that's a relief.
I was thinking last night, as you do, about the compendium of tips and advice which used to head up the OS thread. It was such a useful resources, particularly for people like me. It's where I picked up the Twink's recipe and all sorts of useful tips. It would be nice to have access to the reference material it contained. Does anyone know if it still exists? I suspect in the many Dr. Who like regenerations of this site its disappeared.
Hugs and spoons as always.
Mehefin aka Derek
