Octopus Saving Sessions 2025
From Octopus today: Saving Sessions - the energy saving scheme where we pay you to use less power - is back, but with a lower reward. Read more and tell us if you want to take part. |
What's the deal with Saving Sessions this year? NESO has just relaunched the service behind Saving Sessions, but with some changes. There will be many more events but the rewards for each will typically be 10-25% of the previous value, but may be rather more on occasion. We're continuing to work with NESO to increase the rates and we'll let you know if they do. Until then, we know lots of you will still be interested, just let us know if you want to take part below. 👇 If you're not sure, there's no harm signing up as you can change your mind at any time. Good to know: Saving Sessions aficionados might be aware that the service has technically started. We'd been holding out for better value, so there's a chance we might end up the missing the first sessions while we regroup. I've said yes but won't be making any effort. |

Interesting also there was a limited live session today with one company gridimp. They bid 1200 and all bids were rejected.0

I did get the notifications. Make sure you are subscribed to the new data set with no year in it

ive signed up to this years savings but find it pointless as now i'm on agile, the 4-7 slots the house is more or less on shut down, not expecting anything in return
also i'm running my mother who is 88 year old account, ive signed her up for it but im not going to tell her to start switching things off2 -
I've signed up but also being on Agile I only made a few pence last year. It's the thought that counts!1

Never saved much before so will not even try this time, might get a few pence back1

Signed up, but like @Netexporter, as I'm on Agile (and I don't finish work until 7pm) I don't see it having a huge impact. My 84-year-old mum has signed up - I'm not sure she'll save much either, given any cooking she does in the evening is on gas - but she might avoid doing laundry or running the dishwasher until the session is over.

At least Octopus are being up-front regarding the reduced payments.I've signed up, but doubt if I'll bother for such insignificant "rewards".

Having moved on to Agile now I’m another who isn’t expecting anything from this. Clearly though there is no sense in not signing up - I just suspect we will be getting a lot of “must try harder” emails!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
Balance as at 01/09/23 = £115,000.00 Balance as at 31/12/23 = £112,000.00
Balance as at 31/08/24 = £105,400.00 Balance as at 31/12/24 = £102,500.00

Likewise, I've signed up but won't be making any effort unless there is a change to the 'rewards'.
It would be 'unfortunate' if demand actually increased during these so called savings sessions.1
