PCN - Glasgow by NCP

Hello,
I am a registered keeper so I received the notice but I wasn't driving the car.
This Asian grocery store in Glasgow offered free parking for customers but this time around the car was parked for 40 mins, and I got a ticket from NCP, which was very surprising given we have never received one before.
I contacted the Grocery store and they said it's NCP who manages the car park since the past 3 months so they asked me to deal directly with them.
Could you please advise me if I should contact and appeal (not sure on what grounds) or just ignore?
Thank you.
