How old are you looking for? Someone was recommending a site recently, and others say they've used it, but the laptops were typically 5-10 years old and yes they were relatively cheap (lot less so for Mac) for a functioning laptop you could get much more modern devices elsewhere for similar prices.

For anyone considering second-hand refurbed laptop this weekend, it is worth checking the prices for used against new prices under "black Friday deals".
I saw a laptop in the local PC refurb store at £295.  Pretty much the same specification is available at the Dell website at £350.  If the budget will stretch, and for that small delta in cost, a new machine would seem to win out.
Of course, the potential for a financial gain is greater if going for a higher end laptop.
  • Dell outlet has savings vs new for virtually  new or fairly new 'refurbs' fully certified by Dell.
    Do compare prices though....
  • There is a huge market in refurbed Lenovo laptops - generally ex corporate ones that have been replaced for no reason other than they're a couple of years old.

Search on ebay for 'lenovo laptop refurb' and only use sellers with big feedback scores (10000+).

Morgan computers were always good and still exist online although they no longer have shops as far as I know.
