^ I’d echo this. Also, if you do tell them once, at the same time inform them that you are only prepared to deal with them in writing going forwards, that they should remove your telephone numbers from their records and not contact you by telephone again.

As Rob says - they have literally acknowledged that the debt isn’t enforceable! Cheeky tinkers!

I actually missed that information. I didn't expect it to be after all the addresses

PRA did the same with me, in small writing under the Stepchange etc phone numbers, so I look at things very carefully now.

Does anyone have a very simple template I could use to tell them I won’t be paying anything due to lack of CCA? I tend to end up waffling instead of being direct . Also is email best or postal letter ? Many thanks

There may be a template but I would go with something along the line of

”as per your letter of X you have confirmed you are not currently able to comply with my request to provide the CCA for this account, therefore until you comply I will not be making payments.

I now require you to only contact me via hard copy letter, in the post. You are to remove any telephone numbers you may have for me from my file, and any further attempt to contact me via telephone will be viewed as harassment”.

That's all you need to say. That's essentially what I said to PRA and their response was:

Your account balance does remain outstanding, please be assured that we want to work with you to agree on the best possible resolution. If there is any reason you think you do not owe this money, or any reason you can’t afford to repay it, please give us some more details so we can help you.

So just ignore them from that point on unless the send the CCA or a letter before claim.
