I too cannot find lakeviews post, but a 4x4 is not an option.A friend of mine who has a Zafira said it's no bigger than the Astra interior wise, she said she measured both.So I may stick with an Estate.I've been looking on the parkers guide and I must admit I'm leaning towards the Focus.Thanks for all your help!!!:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0

They're both built on the same chassis/floorpan!
It's only the height of & style of, the body thats really different!!

Get a decent roll cage welded in, and bucket seats with harnesses, and protective film on the windows
What about a Skoda Octavia estate? Big boot space, plenty of interior room, should be reliable. Cheap because of the badge snobs. Unfortunately the Octavia is mostly VW.
If you really hunt around and are lucky you might even get yourself a Skoda Superb in your budget.
