Possible Plevin claim

I have been trying for awhile to look at possible money refund from a mortgage my parents had and under Plevin rules. They had a mortgage with Alliance and Leicester which obviously would be with Santander looking into it now. Yes, I was executor and have probate. I used a company awhile ago to look into it for me and they said I had a possible claim. It seemed to be taking a long time and I signed letters of authority and sent them proof of probate etc. After thinking it over for a bit I asked them again to open it up and signed another letter of authority. It was again hearing nothing so I called and they then revealed about it going to court with lots of others, but because I stopped it last year and asked them again to look into a claim I was told I was too late to be part of this claim. I'm now thinking of writing myself to Santander to look at the claim under Plevin. Before when it was PPI I did something one parent had with credit cards and was successful. Has anyone had any dealings or success with Plevin and mortgage refunds of commission with Santander? I don't know where to write to either about it. Thanks for any help.

Has anyone had any dealings or success with Plevin and mortgage refunds of commission with Santander? There is limited success with complaints on MPPI. It was considered one of the better types of PPI. Indeed, for a while the FSA considered excluding it from the PPI issue but decided against it as it felt it would complicate issues.
Commission on MPPI was typically below the threshold for plevin. usually in the 20-30% range. Unlike loan or credit card that was usually above the 50% threshold.
Most alliance & Leicester mortgages were put in place by mortgage brokers. Any insurance arranged would be the broker and not the lender in that scenario. Have you verified who sold the mortgage and policy and who the insurer was?
