Debt Collector Searches on Credit File

I've just had an update to my Equifax Credit Report, and while everything is looking good I can see there is a heading I've never noticed before called 'debt collector searches'
I don't recall ever having seen this heading before, is this a new thing, and under what circumstances can debt collectors mark my report with this type of hard search which would stay on my credit file for 2 years? for example could Cabot (for example) just go into my credit file and have a look around triggering that negative marker?
