MSE equivalent in Italy?

Options
Hi everyone

sorry if this is not the right place to write this, I wasn't sure where post it! If not, then please let me know If/where the right place is.

I was just wondering if there is any website/forum/email service similar to MSE and what Martin Lewis does, but for people living in Italy? I love what he and his team does, how much they cover, the nice little (and big) tips on energy, credit, mortgage, etc... but I may move to Italy in a few months, and I'm gonna miss this level of help!

I tried to look on google but I couldn't find anything, or wasn't able to research properly.... so If anyone has any idea, that would be great!

Thank you very much

There was an Italian poster on here who might have been able to help, but she hasn’t been around since the beginning of October.

But if there was one, how is your Italian?

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Martin Lewis sold this site to MoneySupermarket a very long time ago for a vast sum, they just pay him a licencing fee to continue using the picture. I mean they routinely make £30m to £40 profit each year and a company is typically worth 5-8 times profit if you want an idea of how much he got, his team just moved to a new parent company.

Can't help you with the name of an Italian millionaire journalist describing themselves as a consumer champion to make vast wealth. Assuming your Italian language skills are reasonable you are probably better off asking on a forum based in Italy

If you're seeking to imply that he received somewhere between £150m and £320m from the sale then this is some way above the figure of £87m that was widely reported at the time, and to be fair he put over £10m of that back into consumer advice oriented charities, subsequently claiming that the real figure is now closer to £20m:

And while he's clearly not as active at MSE as he was, he is still involved:

In 2012, MSE joined the MoneySupermarket Group – with Martin continuing in his role as Editor-in-Chief. At the end of 2015, the period contracted in the sale, the contractual relationship was over and Martin could have left (or been asked to leave).

Yet no one wanted that. So in 2016 Martin moved from Editor-in-Chief to a permanent new role as MSE's Executive Chair, overseeing the site, focusing on journalism and content quality, ethics, strategy and creativity. A role he relished and continues to do to this day – still writing lots of content, overseeing the editorial line and playing the leading role in MSE and what it does.

I know of no real equivalent of MSE here in Italy, there are sites giving advice which includes money saving tips, such as money.it, financera.it. To search, try 'risparmiare soldi'.
