Leaking boiler

Hi,
I've got a glow worm boiler with a small leak, really don't want to have to pay a call out charge if this is something simple we could do ourselves. It only ever leaks after having the kitchen hot tap on / just after we top the tap / it's a slow drip . Any advice? Thanks!

It looks like it is leaking from the heating !!!!!!. The part is quite expensive (£50+) to replace and might require the system to be drained to do so - although the symptom that it only leaks when the hot tap is turned off means that it might be the valve for the domestic hot water, so you would only need to turn off the cold supply to the boiler to change it.
If the boiler is old, then living with it might be the correct option, but if it is less than 12 years old, I would suggest you call Glowworm Homeowner Technical Support on 0344 736 0059 and ask them if there is anything that can be done to stop a leak from the heating !!!!!! valve. Gloworm offer a fixed price repair service that might be a good option as you know exactly what the problem that you want fixing is.
If you decide to do it yourself, you could check the partnumber for the heating !!!!!! with Glowworm to ensure you get the right part. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1 -

Could you monitor that to see if it changes from when the boiler is cold, to fully running the CH hot, and see if it changes? Also see if it changes when running DHW.If you get a piece of paper towel and a torch, you can try completely drying that isolating valve - squeeze the towel around it, and remove - and then shine the torch on it, looking really closely to see where - exactly - the drip first appears. Please report back.1 -
type in your town/village / local boiler service engineerthen look for one that saysexperienced / bolier replacements /servicing /landlord certificates /breakdowns / no call out chargeor if you know anyone who is a landlord / get a recomendation from who they use / good boiler engineers are worth weight in gold to landlords and when they find one they do not use anyone else .
