iPad forgotten passcode - what’s backed up

I’ve somehow managed to forget my iPad passcode while on holiday. I know I can wipe/reset it by plugging into a PC (there’s a local electronics shopping centre nearby) and then restore it from the last back up.
i use Notes a lot on it, and some are stored on iCloud so I can access them on my phone too, but the majority of my notes are saved on the actual iPad.

Will the notes on the iPad itself still be backed up on iCloud, so if I did a restore they’d be there too?

Only if you have set the Notes application to automatically back up to the Cloud or have manually backed them up to the Cloud.

I’m not 100% sure, but when I replaced my older iPad mini with this new one, everything transferred onto it from ‘restore from icloud’ 

Ive just tried my passcode again and locked it for an hour..
