Parking in coach bay fine
AnthonyPike
I recently hired a lwb van and stopped at services, couldn't fit in a normal spot so I stopped in the coach parking, and I received a letter saying I have £100 fine.
Does anyone have any advice on this, it was the only alternative spot I could fit

you could contact the services ( roadchef? ) and outline the details and ask then to cancel the charge ( you could say you were tired and need a break for safety reasons ).1

You don't have a FINE.AnthonyPike said:I recently hired a lwb van and stopped at services, couldn't fit in a normal spot so I stopped in the coach parking, and I received a letter saying I have £100 fine.

Which parking firm? You won't be paying.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This raises an interesting point for me,
When going into a motorway with something like a Luton van, do you follow signs for lorries, or those for cars and risk meeting something like a width barrier?

That gives them the option charge the keeper either way...van parked in the coach parking or parked outwith the bay markings in car parking space.
Complain bitterly to the Landowner. Plan A in the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement thread, top of p1.
Don't accept 'they can't intervene due to GDPR regulations' excuse. They can cancel pcns.

Usually you would follow the route for lorries if you are in a commercial type Luton van, or caravans for non commercial. Both usually go to an area for lorries not coaches.DerektheDonkey said:This raises an interesting point for me,

Are you sure it was for parking in the wrong place, not an overstay, it's unusual as service areas usually are only covered by ANPR?
