ULEZ fine
Options
hello guys
i have received a fine for not paying ulez charge on time!
now, the time they allow you to pay, is a couple of days!
i was on holiday at time, and when arrived home a few days later, tried to pay, but it was not possible, i even phined TFL, and was told that i missed the boat!! the next thing is afine of £180 or so...
being a visitor to london, i wasn't aware of this short deadline for payment, which is actually not displayed on the ULEZ notices, and to my opinion, is pathetically short!
it seems a easy money grabber for london council!!
why on earth they only give a couple of days to pey???
furthermore, the fine, it's as if you have commited a crime !!
you only missed a very short deadline to pay a fee!!!
jumping from £12.50 per day to £180 is ludicres!!
has anybody challanged this arbetrary behaviour of the council, in court?
it just doesn't make sense!!!
happens to be that they declined my chalenge, beacause the name of the registered keeper is mistakenly spelled with K instead of a C, and i sent the representation with my correct name, so they don't accept it!
i have already received a Bailiffs letter about it!!

Yes people have gone to court and won. Google builder who owed them thousands and won because the signage did not say you had to pay a fee.
How much time and effort and costs will it take you to fight £180? Probably a lot more than that, if you have the time and resources to fight it then
there are chances that you may win. There are many flaws in the system.
Fighting it on a Typo is probably going to be a losing argument. You need to explain WHY the system failed to inform you of the charges or the timescale
in which to pay the charges etc etc.. Then you may win.
If your getting debt collection letters then I imagine the charge is going to keep increasing.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

If you were only holiday, how did you incur a ULEZ fine?
To avoid such problems in the future it's best to have Autopay setup. Bonus is that you can enter ULEZ and if camera doesn't spot you then you don't payRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
