    I have set up a google sheet using:
    =googlefinance("INDEXFTSE:MCX","price") for most and a YH finance add in for others =YHFINANCE_QUOTES("BZ=F")

    Can also have previous day price to have % change column

    Only one I haven't found a ticker for is UK ICE natural Gas, have added gold and bitcoin as extras and reduced coverage of European and Asian bourses.

    GoogleFinance:

    UK Markets
    INDEXFTSE:UKX
    INDEXFTSE:MCX
    Europe Markets
    INDEXEURO:AEX
    INDEXEURO:PX1
    INDEXDB:DAX
    INDEXSTOXX:SX5E
    INDEXBME:INDI
    US Markets
    INDEXDJX:.DJI
    INDEXNASDAQ:.IXIC
    INDEXSP:.INX
    Asia Markets
    INDEXBOM:SENSEX
    INDEXHANGSENG:HSI
    INDEXNIKKEI:NI225
    Currency
    CURRENCY:GBPUSD
    CURRENCY:GBPEUR

    YHFINANCE_QUOTES

    BZ=F
    CL=F
    GC=F
    BTC-USD
    I think....

    @michaels

    Can you add fund prices in this way?    HSBC global or Rathbone.

    Can you link from MSN Money for example?

    There is a search box here for Yahoo finance 'tickers'

    Symbol Lookup from Yahoo Finance

    and for google finance
    Google Finance – Stock-market prices, real-time quotes and business news

    Found this for HSBC global but it is an ETF in USD, you could obviously fix the USD bit using the exchange rate

  • I've found this add-on useful for getting data for funds in to a Google sheet

    https://workspace.google.com/marketplace/app/%C2%B5funds/274036499952

     For example, once installed:

    =muFunds("nav","GB00B3TYHH97")

    returns the latest price for Vanguard LifeStrategy 60 Acc.

    ISIN code(s) can obviously be stored in separate cell(s) and referred to in the function if preferred.

    Too many adverts keep popping up . They have a Black Friday sale. Unusual for an investing site !

    Seems a reasonable cost cut, there are hundreds of sources of info for the markets, no need for the bbc to replicate it.
    There are hundreds of sources for the Premier League table, but the BBC still show it!
    Plus they still publish horse racing results ( quite quickly in fact) despite numerous other places to look.

    I’d say that the markets page is accessed less than the footy or horses. People, on this page (me included) are atypical. It’s a judgement, I don’t think it’s a bad one.
  • The BBC has ‘Public Purposes’ to deliver on.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/aboutthebbc/governance/mission

    I guess provision of market information would fit in the first, but if the same information is available through other impartial sources then it shouldn’t be as high a priority.

    I suppose the next question is whether sports should be a priority!
