Airbnb cancelled my booking - not the host!

I was lucky that I checked my emails just prior to my departure on hols to Spain recently.
Airbnb informed me that my booking had been cancelled. As you can imagine, I wasn't too happy with my host, but decided to book a hotel for the first few days and re-book when out there.
I later received a WhatsApp from my host asking me why "I" had cancelled the booking!
Following this, Airbnb confessed that it had cancelled and was closing my account due to unusual activity, which of course it couldn't disclose - "due to privacy reasons".
I continued my holiday from hotels which, given the out-of-season, were as cheap as I could find on Airbnb.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Is there no protection for consumers from this sort of behaviour? (What if I'd not checked my email or was in a poor reception area?)
Thank-you for any views.
Please to be discriminated against by financial institutions. Thank-you for taking advantage of my Dyspraxia.:)

Don't want to write a long issue for the submission to stall again.
    I will delete after confirmation.

Next time, save the message in a text editor (such as Notepad) if you think it won't go through.  Then paste it in to this site.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
  • Airbnb cancelled all our bookings and closed my account in 2020 when the website had a glitch with accepting its new terms and conditions. We were in Japan at the start of a three week holiday. I spent a day on the phone to Airbnb and eventually they acknowledged it was their fault. They were pretty rubbish and couldn’t help with rebooking the cancelled accommodation. I contacted all the hosts and managed to rebook a few of the airbnbs. Others couldn’t be rebooked and I had to find other places. All very stressful. Airbnb gave me 100$ compensation. I always check the bookings are still in place before we leave.
