Building Survey, buying without a mortgage

Hi,
I sold my previous home, and as I am downsizing will be able to buy without a mortgage.

My offer has just been accepted (woohoo!!!) on a semi-detached built in the 1950's.

I would like to get a RICS surveyor to do a structural survey to know what I am getting into, and whether there is are any structural issues that will influence the price/value.

Does anyone know if it will be cheaper as there is no information for the mortgage provider needed?

I was reading on here to definitely go for level 2 (+ electrical + damp timber survey), or level 3 provided they can reach the loft, and can get to the floorboards, and can move furniture.

Is anything else potentially different from when a mortgage provider is involved?

It is entirely up to you. You can even buy without a survey as no mortgage is involved.
Unless you are buying a very poor quality house, structural survey is rarely necessary.

Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.
