Losses on eBay Goods - tax relief?

I will concentrate on the practicalities.
You should have treated this as a trade if you knew your profits would exceed £1,000 for a year, but as you have declared and paid tax on the profits, and appear to be nowhere near the level at which class 2 or class 4 NIC is payable, you owe no tax for 2022/23 and previous years. I reiterate what I said in my earlier post which is to complete a form CWF1, register as self employed from 6 April 2023, accept the modest fine for slightly late registration if they even bother to issue one, and do your accounts on the accruals basis as I described so you can claim the loss sideways. Class 2 NIC is now deemed paid if your profits fall between £6,725 and £12,570. Below £6,750 you don't have to pay (no doubt your class 1 will suffice for pension purposes).
I doubt you need an accountant, but that is your choice.0
