Timeshare

I divested myself of two timeshare weeks last year, did it through the rental/resale office of the resort. Very straight forward and quick.
Does your resort have anything similar?0 -
Where is the timeshare located? Do not use any company which requires a substantial up-front payment as they have no incentive to do anything once they have that payment.Having just looked at the National Timeshare Helpline site it seems they don't charge an upfront fee, but you still need to read the T&C carefully. With many Claims Management companies, once you sign up with them you will have to pay them their percentage even if you manage to dispose of it privately, or through the owning company.0

Hi, I know it's only a few days but I'm also in the same position as you and willing to pay them money to get me out of mine.
Also terribly worried it's a scam.
Did you find out any more info and gave you gone ahead?
Thanks

Does anyone know or used ECC / M10
-
There is a separate thread on ECC/M1. I was just about to go with them until I read the thread and then rapidly pulled out just in time. They ask a large amount upfront and I got cold feet after I read the comments on the other thread.
I have a Karma membership and am also looking into the National Timeshare Helpline to relinquish the contract. I am grateful for any advice from those who have had any experience with them (or other reliable companies who can help).0 -
If any supposed timeshare resale company asks for anything more than a nominal amount up front, run away don't walk away. Suggest they take their commission from the price received for the property and you will see their reaction.0

Not being funny but
Good to know: You don't need to use a claims management company to make your complaint to your bank, lender, provider or intermediary. If your claim is not successful, you can refer it the the financial ombudsman yourself for free. National Timeshare Helpline is a trading name of Mercantile Claims Management Solutions Ltd and is Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Firm Reference Number: 831699. Our registration is recorded, and a record of this trading style can be viewed at www.fca.org.uk
Love the way they say you do not need to use a claims management company, yet that is exactly what they are 🤣
There used to be a group using the same name many years ago, that helped people that got into a mess with timeshare, all volunteers, which we used to point people at when we could not help. Sadly they had to close, as they could not cope with all the problems.Life in the slow lane0 -
can someone help urgently? We signed a contract with national timeshare helpline to get us out of contract with seasons, they said they served a unilateral notice of termination on them as they would not play ball and come to amicable agreement - they are now asking us to pay £3,500 in the next few days to pay for this service but they say they can’t give us proof of termination of seasons contract?

Tell them they aren't getting a penny from you until you have documented proof that they have successfully terminated the contract, and there is no way that Seasons can come after you at a later date. Pass any documentation by a solicitor. Solicitor is likely to charge a lot less than £3.5k to confirm whether or not the 'proof' is worth the paper it's written on.
