Admiral car insurance renewal date too late?

Most car insurance companies let you renew your police within 30(ish) days of your policy ending. Most car insurance companies (including Admiral), let new customers get quotes and purchase new policies within 30 days of start date.
But admiral is different for renewal, they’ll only let you see your renewal within 23 days of renewal date, which means that you can’t tell if your renewal quote is competitive with other insurance providers (Surely this is against FCA rules?).

-Note-
Have phoned, and confirmed that the system will not let them (I checked).

Have you tried getting a new quote from them online?

you can save your quotes from 30 days and compare against the renewal when admiral provide it.

    No harm no foul

All sellers of insurance are the same, their systems are hard coded to generate the renewal quote X days before the date it is due to lapse. The FCA rules are not that prescriptive, they say they must be sent with reasonable notice. For most X is somewhere between 21 and 28 days

What I mean with FCA compliance is that X for renewal should be the same as if you were a new customer, so that they’re treating new and loyal customers equally.

I’ve had a rough quote through comparison sites (which were cheaper than direct from admiral, which is why I’m with them in the first place), but I have their ‘telematics’ app, which means that I ‘should’ get a better price than what I saw through comparison sites this year.

No, the regulations say that a renewing customer cannot be charged more than a new customer for the same product via the same channel. They are perfectly free to charge renewing customers les than new business ones (as well as differentiating my channel/product)
