Sorry, I meant to type FOI request - Freedom of information.I looked at the SRA but it's clear that my situation is not covered by their procedure.0

They are not a government / public institution - FoI will not apply.Downthedrain said:Sorry, I meant to type FOI request - Freedom of information.I looked at the SRA but it's clear that my situation is not covered by their procedure.1 -
I find myself in a trap with making any progress with this. BW Legal's client from where the allegation of debt originates confirmed response of a complaint to themselves, but has failed to act on that complaint. BW Legal will still not send me copies of any written correspondence, nor transcripts of submissions via their portal (which was a huge mistake on my part).I got so only so far making a complaint to the Legal Ombudsman, but this stalled at the point where they're asking what service was provided to me, but they're not providing me with a service. I suppose the Financial Ombudsman is perhaps the way to make some headway, but again as I'm not a customer of their service I seem to fail to meet the criteria for complaintFurthermore, the critical documents I need in support of my claim are with BW Legal. Because I considered their action against me to be concluded three years ago I did not keep the original paperwork and when I log in to the original case it's closed and I don't have access.Does anyone here have experience of referring such matters to their MP? Will they get involved in a personal dispute?Any other practical advice?0

Same first and surname only - all other details are someone else at a completely different address in a town I've never been to, a car I've never owned and an insurer I've never even heard of.Any other practical advice?
Your next reply should be see you in court, surely? That way they'll have to submit all of their evidence and you get to submit yours and a counter-claim.1 -

Thanks. I hadn't heard of this before and it looks exactly what I need. Looking at the ICO web site information, I've already made the request but I haven't framed the wording within the context of an SAR, so I guess BW Legal are ignoring it on that basis.0

Technically the data controller has to be able to recognise a DSAR for what it is even if it isn't requested in those terms. "I'd like to know all the information you have about me" would be one clear example of a DSAR.Downthedrain said:Thanks. I hadn't heard of this before and it looks exactly what I need.
