corgi models and EFE models (buses) bring about 99p to a tenner. mint in boxes.
theres some very rare ones that fetch say 20/30 quid.
ive got about 40 buses. all mint. never paid more than a tenner for anyone of em.Get some gorm.0 -
There are dealers who specialise in these buses and they can be found at the back of the bus collector magazines (there are several different magazines). Like ormus says ordinary buses even mint in box can make as little as 99p- tenner, but some I have bought (as OH is a collector) have cost me upwards of £30, problem is I can't tell the difference between a good one and a bad one and just buy what he tells me!
Research them individually on ebay if you do list them be very particular about the condition and also mention everything on the box..route number , livery, dates etc.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. i'll agree with everything said above,it can also just be your luck who is looking for what, you could sell one for £1 one week and sell the same again next week for £30.
good luck with them....work permit granted!0 -
very true. you never know on ebay.
ps
i bought 6 EFE buses tother week off a local trader for 30 quid. all mint in the box.
found him on ebay.Get some gorm.0 -
Even though it might be tempting to bung them all on eBay as a batch, it's probably worth taking a few moments to craft superb listings on an individual basis. Selling batches tends to depress the overall price you get. Use eBay to research similar lots and take good pictures. Also, consider using videos to show of your items and entice buyers using a service such as as vzaar.com.
For collectable goods such as these I'd also probably wait until after payday later in Jan. The collectables market is likely to be very depressed at the mo.0 -
Sorry to jump in this thread but hope the original OP doesnt mind?

try the corgi website for starters http://www.corgi.co.uk/CorgiSite/pages/home/default.asp
also have a look at some other brands like autoart, efe, solido and cararama.
some of these are very good models.
also check prices on ebay....work permit granted!0 -
Donlt buy as an investment though as this type of thing has a horrible habit of losing value and not gaining it.
A 'notable' car though from the year of his birth and perhaps to mark anniversaries or events is a lovely idea. However, your son might turn out like mine who when they found they each had a stash of boxed Christening goods, like silver and Royal doulton, automatically looked at the price on ebay with a view to selling it! (Can't think where they get that from  )I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I've had a peek at the corgi site and found some info there thanks ...also found a list of top 50 popular corgi cars...then price checked them on ebay
maybe i should rethink, lol!
I am doing a charm bracelet for my daughter and buying her a charm every year (even though i know she's unlikely to wear it) so was just trying to think of something similar for my son but not so easy - boys eh!0 -
