Dimplex Quantum Storage Heater Troubles

We brought x2 dimplex quantum storage heaters which are now encountering issues it seems.

Bedroom:

Qm100 g6 series.

We were finding difficulty heating the room at night and charging the unit without the unit overheating. It seems the brains of the unit gets overwhelmed by usage and charging together.   

Has anyone encountered this? 

Or know of an effective way to keep it on whilst charging? Setback seems very ineffective and potentially non existent. 

The unit seems very ineffective for the PM session also. Unit feels warm enough to do some work in heating the space, but doesn't feel warm at 23c in the room. Unit in the lounge (23c) which is on all day is much more apparent and most importantly heats the room which makes me wonder that there is a problem..

It worked like a dream, but we are now encountering issues where it forgets to engage to heat the room and we need to switch the unit on and off for it to do so (it even failed to reload this morning initially after the on and off trick). It also doesn’t allow me to enter the hidden menu too which reassures me that it’s playing silly buggers. This seemed to happen after 2 instances. Adaptive start enabled (now disabled) and a clothes airer placed near it for a few hours once last week. 

Any help would be grateful?

There a user in another thread who has very hot quantum case temps after charging.

Last read - awaiting replacement for some cracked bricks and a new I guess internal shielding inner panel.

After calling in a service engineer.

Another forum user has posted a issue there too with his LHA/HA supplied heaters recently - same advice - to call them in that case - but to get it serviced / checked and repaired as needed.

Yep: currently have a date for the engineer to return to fix it. Mine’s been off all day and is just as hot as the old storage heater that is in the same room.
