Hi all,

As above, been in a new place for a couple of weeks - before that we had 2 months ish between old house and new one, was alternating between airbnbs and holidays abroad, depending on what was better value...so a bit out the loop regarding energy bills and best ( hopefully) strategy.

Currently on the Co-op Flexible Tariff via Octopus ( think its just a "skin" of an Octopus tariff )
Elec: 24.18 p/kwh  - S/C - 66.07 per day

Gas: 6.52  p/kwh - S/C - 29.35 per day

Current monthly estimate is £116.49 monthly

Had a look on my Octopus account to see alternatives ( there are 2 )

Co-op community power - estimate - £ 113.58 monthly

C0-op 12Month Fixed - estimate - £110.07 monthly

So on the face of it, might be worth swapping to the 12Month fixed to save £70 ish per year .

Is that competitive ?  Or worth seeing if any "  new customer " deals around.

More background - Living in South West England, and there is Smart Meter installed.

Thank you

As you've only just moved in, you'll have to guesstimate your annual consumption.
Calculate the total annual cost of your current tariff based on the kWh and SC rates and compare it against the competition.
Forget the suppliers' promised DD amounts and estimates, they're far too foggy.  They're not even directly comparable, less reputable companies could set a low DD only to increase it later when it transpires that your payments aren't keeping up with your actual usage.
Start a spreadsheet, take meter readings at least weekly and hone your projected figure over the months ahead.
